Vohuma (“we,” “our,” or “us”) operates the Vohuma application and the website at vohuma.com. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use our services.

By using Vohuma, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your email address and a hashed version of your password. We never store your password in plain text.

Profile Information

You may optionally provide a display name, username, bio, and avatar image. This information is used to personalize your experience and, if you choose to share content publicly, displayed on your public profile.

Voice Conversations

When you use Vohuma's voice conversation feature, your audio is processed in real time by our AI provider (Google Gemini) to understand your emotional context and generate personalized content. We do not store raw audio recordings. Emotional context and memories are stored as text summaries that you can view, edit, or delete at any time.

Generated Content

Meditation scripts, sleep stories, cover art, and audio files generated for you are stored in your account. You own this content and can delete it at any time.

Usage Data

We collect anonymous usage data such as session duration, feature usage, and play counts to improve our service. We use Google Analytics for website analytics.

2. How We Use Your Information

• Personalization: Your memories and conversation context are used solely to generate personalized meditations and stories for you.
• Account management: Your email is used for authentication and account-related communications.
• Service improvement: Aggregated, anonymized usage data helps us improve features and performance.
• Social features: If you choose to publish stories publicly, your display name and avatar are visible to other users alongside your shared content.

3. What We Do Not Do

• We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
• We do not use your personal content to train AI models.
• We do not share your memories, conversation context, or private meditations with anyone.
• We do not send marketing emails without your consent.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate Vohuma:

• Google Gemini: For voice conversation processing and content generation. Subject to Google's API Terms of Service.
• Inworld AI: For text-to-speech audio generation.
• Amazon Web Services (S3): For secure storage of generated audio and images.
• Google Analytics: For anonymous website usage analytics.

5. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored in a PostgreSQL database with encrypted connections. Passwords are hashed using industry-standard algorithms. API communication is encrypted via HTTPS. We implement rate limiting and security headers to protect against common attacks.

6. Your Rights and Controls

You have full control over your data at all times:

• View and edit: Access all your memories, meditations, and profile information through the app.
• Export: Download all your data as a JSON file from the Settings screen.
• Delete selectively: Delete individual memories, meditations, or all data of a specific type.
• Delete account: Permanently delete your account and all associated data from Settings. This action is irreversible.
• Unpublish: Make any publicly shared story private again at any time.

7. Children's Privacy

Vohuma is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will notify you through the app or by email. Continued use of Vohuma after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
